Formerly used on a high-performance variant of the F-150, the Lightning nameplate was revived for the 2022 model year for Ford’s first series-produced electric truck. Every member of the line-up offers dual electric motors for through-the-road four-wheel drive, but buyers have two battery packs to choose from and driving range varies accordingly. The F-150 Lightning is still available new today.
Power comes from a pair of electric motors (one per axle), which draw electricity from a 98-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack to zap all four wheels with 452 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. The Lightning earned a maximum driving range of 230 miles from the EPA with the standard-range battery.
